Zombie

I am a zombie
must’ve been taken down by another
(my Mum, my Dad, I can’t remember)
we're all going forward
slowly
dragging our limbs
empty eyed
searching for warm flesh
a cure
or vindication day
the numbness inside
it’s quite pleasant
all I have to do
is feed
follow
feed
follow
they say we’re not alive anymore
like they know!

I feel no different, anyway

Reading your poem, my first thought ran back in time to The Vampire Lestat novel, especially the volume "Queen of the Damned". But here I find a more urban-night-personal stance.

Nice

Cheers,

Marius, 'Queen of the damned' is a masterpiece.:)) I am big fan of Anne Rice's work.
my text is trying to surprise society today: the taken-down feeling, the loss of purpose/ aim/ aspiration...
thanks for passing by!:)
